Sevyn Streeter is Allowed to Sing the National Anthem in Her ‘We Matter’ Jersey
Seven Streeter was finally allowed to hit the court in Philadelphia to sing the National Anthem after her previous performance was cancelled. In October of this year, the 76ers organization cancelled her performance because she wanted to wear a jersey that says ‘We Matter’. After some dissagreements and then an apology, Sevyn was invited to return to perform the National Anthem on December 16th in her ‘We Matter’ jersey.
“I’m really excited, I’m feeling great. I’m happy that we were able to turn an unfortunate situation into something positive. I’m singing the anthem tonight. I’m wearing my ‘We Matter’ jersey. I was just able to play with kids from the Boys & Girls Club…I feel awesome.”
